Governor’s Commendation

Our Class of 2024 student Alexandra Seal has been awarded the prestigious Governor’s Commendation this year. Alexandra, also named South Australia’s 2024 Young Citizen of the Year, is an accomplished scholar, leader, and advocate. She is the founder of Six Spaces, a handcrafted polymer clay jewellery business that donates a percentage of its profits to charities. For her Research Project, Alexandra created a powerful short film for Families4Families to support those affected by acquired brain injuries.

This year, Alexandra was also honoured with the special Loreto award – Mary Ward Just Soul Award, which recognises exceptional contributions to social justice initiatives and celebrates those who embody courage, compassion, and integrity. For ALL women and girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment (United Nations, IWD, 2025)

To truly honour the theme of International Women’s Day 2025, we must recognise that investing in girls' education is one of the most impactful ways to drive lasting change, ensuring that all women and girls can claim their rightful place, experience equality, and be empowered to lead. What if the key to a more just and equal world lies in empowering every girl with the education she deserves? Education is not only a fundamental human right but also a powerful tool for personal and social transformation. When girls are equipped with knowledge and opportunity, they become catalysts for change, fostering a more equitable world for all.
